Cineasta / n. / Spanish
Cineastas was founded by two friends who wanted to apply themselves fully to the craft of filmmaking.
Sean Grasso and Tristan Stoch started their production company by filming video portraits about makers in Portland, Oregon. Over the years, Cineastas has delivered the full spectrum of projects to a variety of clients, ranging from nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies. We can work as a bare-bones crew, or scale up to a full-sized production team, depending on what is best for your project. We are dedicated to our craft and focus on quality.
Our clients include:
Tristan Stoch was born and raised on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. As a result, he is infamously flannel-clad and has a strong love of the forest. He got his start filming skate videos in high school and now has over 9 years of professional video production experience. Tristan typically fills the role of Director because he enjoys long hours of research, writing and asking questions. He is also passionate about beautiful lighting and organized sets, so he often moonlights as a gaffer. Feel free to talk to him about gardening, homebrewing or mushroom hunting.
Sean Grasso hails from the desert of Las Vegas, Nevada. At eighteen, he made his escape to the much greener Northwest to study film at Pacific University. Inspired by the young French filmmakers of the 1950s, he is passionate about movies which break convention and tell everyday stories. Today, Sean works as a cinematographer and motion graphic designer. Through this work he has developed a deep understanding of communication through visual media and the creative challenges it demands. Sean is also an avid hiker. Recently, he walked over two-thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail.
